Christmas Charity Gala 2015

December 20th marked Unsung Hero's 3rd annual Christmas Gala, an elegant night we highly anticipate throughout the year where we celebrate the season festivities with profits benefitting the Ottawa Senators Foundation. Throughout the process of organizing our community events, it allows us to take a step back from the hustle of the everyday grind. Ultimately, this proves once again that we are so blessed to have the opportunity to help one another so we all come up together.

This year's 1960 Sinatra-themed Gala was a huge hit with local Ottawa musical talent, the David Ward Band, opening during cocktail and hor d'oeuvres hour. We had special guests, the Capital Barber Shop, offering on the spot straight blade shaves while servers topped up champagne glasses courtesy of E & J Gallo, Winery. Generous prizes from our sponsors were won by the contestants who could pull off the best 'Twist' dance imitation while DJ Tom Thanks graced the evening with a highly energetic dance floor. Attendees had the opportunity to bid on over 27 hot silent auction packages, while everyone walked away with gift bags that featured event souvenirs and sponsor giveaways. Needless to say, this event would not have been possible without the support of many organizations and, of course, our guests! For those of you who are hearing about this for the first time, the Ottawa Senators foundation provides funding for children's programs in health care, education, and recreation. Unsung Hero is proud to be a contributor to this great organization for multiple years collectively raising over $50,000.00.

Special thank you to our event committee for their commitment to making this event our best yet. We literally could not have done it without you! We cannot wait to share what our 2016 event has in store.
